The Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association (AANZHPBA) Annual Scientific Meeting was at the Intercontinental Hotel Double Bay, Sydney on 5-7 October 2023.
The theme of the meeting was Value-based care in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgery. The program was designed to be of interest to both General Surgeons and HPB specialists from registrars up to consultants.
The program covered a range of topics such as the different perspectives on value-based care, evidence-based practices, patient reported outcomes, and the role of innovation and technology in HPB surgery. Keynote international and local speakers explored why value-based care is both necessary and worthwhile to improve patient outcomes. There was several free paper and video sessions.
